Our master artisans created this masterpiece Dolkar (White Tara) statue with the jewelry and crown of a Bodhisattva. The jewelry, crown, and robes are embellished with semi-precious turquoise and red coral stones — turquoise insets even dot the engraved fabric of her dhoti and stud each petal of her lotus throne. The entire statue, with the exception of her hair and face, is gilded with the finest 24K gold: her hair is painted a deep lapis blue, flowing beneath the crown and over her shoulders, and her face is hand painted in the traditional manner with a mixture of paint with fine gold, imbuing the statue with a divine, luminous expression. The color turquoise is a special combination of blue and green — blue signifies the purity of the Buddhas, and green symbolizes their readiness to act. Dolkar wears them well and will inspire all who lay eyes on the statue. The color red pays tribute to Amitabha Buddha, the head of Tara’s Buddha family: its symbolic meaning is attachment, and Tibetan Buddhists believe meditation on the color red transmutes the poison of attachment into the sublime wisdom of discernment.Masterpiece Dolkar Statue AttributesThis masterpiece Dolkar statue embodies one of Tara’s most beloved emanations. Devotees believe Cintachakra glows with the radiance of a thousand white moons, and she watches over them with seven eyes: two on her serene face, a third upright on her forehead, and one on each palm and on the soles of her feet — all so that her every thought and action is imbued with wisdom and compassion. On this statue, the palm eyes are clearly visible on both open hands. She sits in full lotus pose on a single lotus pedestal, with two blossoming lotus flowers rising on carved foliate stems, one over each shoulder. Her right hand rests open over the right knee in the Varada, or “gift giving,” mudra, while her left hand, raised before her chest, holds a lotus stem delicately between thumb and fingers in a gesture of teaching and refuge.White Tara is also known as Cintachakra, a Sanskrit term meaning “wish-fulfilling wheel.” Our beautiful Cintachakra statue is strongly affiliated with serenity, healing, compassion, and long life — indeed, she is counted among the three deities of long life in Tibetan Buddhism, alongside Amitayus and Namgyalma.
