Biography engraver: Cornelis Brouwer (1733-1803) was an engraver active in the Northern Netherlands in the late 18th century; active in Amsterdam from 1765. Worked for Ploos van Amstel (q.v.) since 1775. Biography artist: Jan Bulthuis (1750?1801) was a Dutch draughtsman and painter, especially known for designs for book illustrations and theatre scenery. Pieter Barbiers (I) (1749?1842) was a Dutch painter and stage designer, closely associated with the Amsterdam Schouwburg and renowned for his architectural stage sets.
