Biography engraver: Nicolaes Visscher II (1649-1702) was a Dutch engraver, cartographer and publisher. Son of Nicolaes Visscher I and grandson of Claes Jansz. Visscher. His widow Elisabeth continued the print business after his death. Biography artist: Nicolas Perelle (1631-1695) was a French painter and engraver, son of Gabriel Perelle and known for views of military and architectural subjects, including scenes celebrating Louis XIV’s conquests.
