Biography artist: Romeyn de Hooghe (1645-1708) was a prolific Dutch engraver, printmaker, and satirist active in Amsterdam and Haarlem. His works combine intricate figural compositions with biting commentary and extensive letterpress texts, making him one of the most influential graphic propagandists of the Dutch Golden Age.
