Cornelis Ploos van Amstel, (1726-1798) was art collector, painter, graphic artist, engraver, copper engraver, printmaker, visual artist. He is best known for his collection of drawings and for his editions of prints. He was a timber merchant and broker in ships and ship shares. State: 3rd and final state, from H. 189. Biography engraver: Johannes Kornlein was a German etcher, engraver (printmaker), draftsman (1719/1721-1772) from Nuremberg and active in Amsterdam. Biography artist: Philips Wouwerman (1619-1668) was a Dutch painter of landscapes, hunting and battle scenes. We can see his initials and date 1660 on the plate.
